Anam Cara House Geelong achieves Accreditation

We are thrilled to announce that Anam Cara House Geelong has met all 18 criteria for Quality Innovation Performance (QIP) Accreditation.

QIP is Australia's most comprehensive not-for-profit accreditation and certification organisation.

The 18 Standards are measured against Quality Improvement Council Standards and measure risk management, asset management (physical resources) and human resource management.

They are collated into three (3) Sections:

  • Section 1 – Building quality organisations (nine measures)
  • Section 2 – Providing quality services and programs (five measures)
  • Section 3 -Sustaining quality external relationships (four measures)

The assessment process involved a three day site visit to Anam Cara Geelong. The QIP assessment team was thorough in its investigation of how Anam Cara Geelong measured against each of the standards.

Upon completion, we were informed that it is very rare for an organisation to achieve 18/18 on their first assessment – in fact Anam Cara Geelong received an “exceeds expectation” on one of the standards.

This result is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. I congratulate our Accreditation team which was ably led by Health Operations Manager Karen Wintels with the full support of our Board of Directors, management team, staff and volunteers.

The contribution and support of everyone involved in the lead up to and during the site assessment was crucial to Anam Cara Geelong’s success.

We are feeling very proud and excited and look forward to both the benefits and challenges of Accreditation.
